Ron Thompson, head of the Heavy Construction Division of SIG and a designated Risk Management Consultant, has been a professional insurance agent since 1978. He began his career at Liberty Mutual developing worker's compensation programs for some of the largest companies in Texas.

Branching out on his own in 1992, he began specializing in placing coverage for corporations that rent heavy equipment to the commercial construction industry, while providing risk management services to them. Ron understands all aspects of the heavy equipment rental industry and that knowledge has aided him in tailoring policies to the needs of the industry.

He stays current with the changes in the rental business and keeps a sharp eye on trends and marketing forecasts. He attends several trade conventions annually including SC&RA, AED and Con-Expo.
